It's a digital pass by Edinburgh Bus Tours that gives you free access to 4 of Edinburgh's most popular attractions.

It includes the city's Royal attractions (hence the name, Royal Edinburgh): Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Yacht Britannia.

It also includes 48 hours of unlimited travel on the Edinburgh Bus Tours Hop-on, Hop-off bus tours so you can travel the city and get to the attractions.

How do I receive and activate the pass?

Buy the Royal Edinburgh ticket online and you will receive an email voucher.

Once in Edinburgh, you'll need to visit the centrally located Stop 1 on the Edinburgh Bus Tours route (19 Waterloo Pl, Edinburgh EH1 3BG). Check the opening hours on their website.

The agents will activate your voucher and issue you tickets for the bus and attractions.

You will also be given a time slot of your choice to visit Edinburgh Castle.

How long is the pass valid for?

From the time you activate it in person in Edinburgh, the Royal Edinburgh ticket is valid for 48 consecutive hours.

Remember to check the opening times of the attractions (which may change seasonally) to help you get organized and make the most of your pass.

Do I need to book the attractions in advance?

No, you will just need to book your visit to Edinburgh Castle.

When you visit the Edinburgh Bus Tours first stop, you will be issued a ticket with the day and time of your choice to visit the Castle.

Even if that particular time slot is sold out online, there will always be available tickets for Royal Edinburgh Ticket holders.

Can I visit the attractions more than once?

You can visit each attraction only once, except for the Sightseeing bus: hop on and off as many times as you like during the 48 consecutive hours!
